How I turned my career around post-covid

Four years ago I was stuck at home (like everyone else), isolating to avoid catching covid-19.

I found an old notebook recently which reminded me of where I was during that time.

I was actually a bit shocked to realise it was 4 years ago!

As I flicked through the pages I remembered the panic I felt about our finances.

I had started to try coaching myself out of the situation. Not easy, part of the reason we need a coach is because we can't see past our own thinking...

Anyway, my coaching "action" list consisted of:

1. Find new source of income

2. Don't be dependent on one source of income

3. Learn some new skills for working from home jobs

4. Earn more money

5. Save some money/stop spending all money on holidays

It was such a great reminder of how much I've achieved over those 4 years.

Sometimes we forget just how far we have come.

So how did I do?

1. I changed the way I work and created 2 service business (consulting and coaching) and added a new one - my books 📚 ✅️

2. I now have 3 sources of income - my project consulting work, my career coaching and my Cactus 🌵 project management books. ✅️

3. I figured out how to write and publish a book. I learned how to package and sell my services...work in progress but have definitely learned new skills. ✅️

4. I've figured out that it's not just about earning more money, it's about not trading my time for money. I'm selling my expertise at a price that reflects the value it brings to my clients. I have more free time and less stress. Which is priceless. ✅️

5. Ha ha ha... 😂 ❌️
